Play for the Planet is a game to learn English on topics related to ecology, the environment and energy saving. Difficulty level: A2-B1 One of several proposed variants of the game:There is a cardboard board with a path, after which players move the pieces towards the finish line, as well as cards with illustrations handed out to the players and cards with questions to be put in the back side upside down. Players successively roll the dice, and then move the pieces around the board and perform the following tasks on each field:trash container symbol: the player checks if he is in possession of a card with an illustration of the item / waste matching the basket. If so, he has the right to make the next roll of dice and move his pawn forward;green question mark: the person next to the player pulls the card from the stack and reads the question with three suggested answers or a choice of true / false choice. The player’s indication of the correct answer entitles him to the next throw of the dice and move his pawn forward;STOP symbol: the player passes one queue;+ 1, + 2, + 3 / -1, -2, -3 symbols: the player moves his or her pawn forward or backward by the indicated number of fields;cube symbol: the player re-rolls the dice and moves his pawn forward; The winner is the player who reaches the finish first. Topics of questions on the cards: ecology, natural environment, healthy food, recycling, sustainable agriculture and renewable energies. The subject of cards with illustrations: types of industrial and organic waste, products from paper raw materials, glass products, plastic products and made of metal raw materials. Didactic goals: learning English combined with learning basic knowledge about the sources and types of civilizational pollution, as well as care for the environment and the natural environment: Age range: children from the age of 8, adolescents, adults Application: The game is applicable both during classes at school and at home (playing with friends and family, or private English lessons).
